Sugar Defender Reviews 2026: What to Know & Fake Website Warning
Our take on Sugar Defender
Sugar Defender is a liquid drop people take for a little extra blood-sugar support alongside diet and exercise. It combines chromium with 22 herbs and amino acids, several of which, like gymnema and ginseng, have been studied for glucose. The seller publishes the full label, which is a real plus. The amounts are small next to those studies, so think of it as a gentle add-on to your routine, not a fix. If you take diabetes medicine, keep taking it and check with your doctor first.
We read the published label, the refund and shipping pages, the live checkout and the BBB file ourselves. We haven't taken Sugar Defender, so this is a read of the facts, not a personal result.
Our rating covers optional support, formula details and buying terms. It does not predict your results.

Ingredient amounts: Sugar Defender label amounts compared with studies
Bars show each label amount as a share of the lower end of the cited comparison range.
| Ingredient | Label dose | What the evidence says |
|---|---|---|
| Chromium (as Chromium Picolinate) | 0.7 mcg per 1 mL serving <1% | Chromium is the only ingredient with its own amount on the label. Glucose trials used 200 mcg or more, and even at those doses results were small and inconsistent. |
| Maca Root Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Maca's human research is about libido and mood at gram doses, not blood sugar. |
| Grape Seed Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Standardized grape seed extract has modest blood-pressure research. The label doesn't say whether this extract is standardized. |
| Guarana Seed Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Guarana is a caffeine source. Its alertness research comes from single doses; there's no good evidence it helps blood sugar. |
| African Mango Fruit Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | The weight-loss trials used a seed extract, and an independent review called their results unreliable. This label lists fruit extract. |
| Eleutherococcus Senticosus Root Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Eleuthero has small, mixed studies on fatigue and endurance. Its blood-sugar evidence is from animals. |
| Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Astragalus has low-quality human trials as an add-on for diabetic kidney disease, given as injections or large decoctions. |
| Green Tea Leaf Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Green tea extract slightly lowered fasting glucose in pooled trials, using hundreds of milligrams of catechins. |
| Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Gymnema is the most glucose-specific herb here, with small human trials showing lower fasting glucose and HbA1c at 400 mg or more. |
| Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Two small 12-week trials of forskolin for body composition had mixed results. There's no glucose evidence. |
| Capsicum Annuum Fruit Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Capsaicin slightly raises energy use and, in one trial, improved after-meal glucose. The label gives no capsaicin content. |
| Grapefruit Seed Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | The grapefruit weight study used the whole fruit. Seed extracts are a different product with a history of preservative contamination. |
| Panax Ginseng Root Extract | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Ginseng has human studies with small glucose effects, using standardized extracts at hundreds of milligrams. |
| Raspberry Ketones | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Raspberry ketone's weight claims come from mouse studies. It has never been tested alone in people. |
| L-Glutamine | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Glutamine raised GLP-1 and modestly lowered HbA1c in small studies, at 15 to 30 grams. |
| L-Tyrosine | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Tyrosine helps mental performance under acute stress at several grams. It has no blood-sugar research. |
| L-Arginine Base | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Arginine at 6.4 g a day helped more people with prediabetes return to normal glucose tolerance in one 18-month trial. |
| Beta-Alanine | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Beta-alanine is a well-studied sports supplement for short, intense exercise. It has no blood-sugar research. |
| Monoammonium Glycyrrhizinate | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | This is the sweet compound from licorice. Large daily amounts can raise blood pressure; it's often used as a sweetener. |
| GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid) | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Oral GABA has limited evidence for stress at 100 mg or more. It's not studied for blood sugar. |
| L-Ornithine HCl | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Ornithine has small trials for fatigue and sleep. It's not studied for blood sugar. |
| L-Tryptophan | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Tryptophan may modestly improve sleep at a gram or more. A normal diet already provides about that much. |
| L-Carnitine Base | Inside the 200 mg blend (no separate amount) | Carnitine lowered fasting glucose and HbA1c slightly in a 37-trial meta-analysis at 1 to 3 grams a day. |
Amount comparisons are not effectiveness scores. Extracts, preparations and study outcomes also matter.

What is Sugar Defender?
Sugar Defender is a liquid supplement sold for blood-sugar support, taken by dropper at 1 mL a day according to its label. Each 60 mL bottle lists 0.7 mcg of chromium and a 200 mg blend of 22 herbs and amino acids.
It’s sold online only, through ClickBank and BuyGoods, in bundles of two, three or six bottles. The sales page also promises “natural weight loss”, which is a separate claim from blood sugar.
How is Sugar Defender supposed to work?
The seller says the formula supports healthy glucose, energy and fat burning. The featured ingredients are eleuthero for energy, coleus and African mango for fat loss, guarana for metabolism, gymnema and ginseng for blood sugar, and chromium.
Several of those ideas have real research behind them. Gymnema, chromium and ginseng each have human glucose studies with small benefits (gymnema meta-analysis, 2021; ginseng meta-analysis, 2014). The studies used larger amounts (hundreds of milligrams, or hundreds of micrograms for chromium) than this drop lists, so keep expectations modest compared with the research.
Sugar Defender ingredients and doses
The label is published, but 22 ingredients share 200 mg, so most are present at a few milligrams or less. US labels list blend ingredients from heaviest to lightest. That means maca, listed first, is at most 200 mg, and every later item is capped lower: the eighth, gymnema, at 25 mg, and the last, L-carnitine, at about 9 mg.
Chromium is the only ingredient with its own amount: 0.7 mcg, or 2% of the Daily Value. Glucose trials started at 200 mcg (Anderson et al., 1997), and a later NIH review still called the benefit limited (Costello et al., 2016). So chromium here plays a small supporting role rather than matching a trial dose.
A few blend ingredients aren’t studied for blood sugar at all, such as beta-alanine (a sports supplement), raspberry ketones and L-tyrosine; they look aimed at energy and general wellness. Guarana and green tea add caffeine, and the label doesn’t say how much.
Is Sugar Defender the same as GlucoTonic?
The two products’ published labels are identical, word for word. GlucoTonic’s panel shows the same chromium amount, the same 200 mg blend in the same order and the same water, citrus, stevia and xylitol base. Only the name on the bottle differs.
The brand domains sugardefender.com and glucotonic.com were registered on the same day in March 2023, both sales pages are signed by “Tom Green”, and both send returns to the same Aurora, Colorado address. GlucoTonic offers 90 days to return it instead of 60, which is the main practical difference.
Who makes Sugar Defender?
The label names no company, only “Distributed by: sugardefender.com” at an address in Aurora, Colorado. The Better Business Bureau visited that address and found a fulfillment center called ShipOffers. It also found no Sugar Defender business registration with the Colorado Secretary of State.
Support is support@sugardefender.com and +1-866-994-8188. According to the BBB, a Canadian call-center company handles them. The BBB rates the business F, citing six unanswered complaints and an advertising review the seller didn’t respond to.
What we checked on Sugar Defender, and what we couldn’t
We read the published label, the seller’s legal pages, the live checkout forms, the BBB file and Trustpilot. We haven’t used Sugar Defender ourselves. We couldn’t confirm the “#1 rated” claim, find any trial of the product, or learn who manufactures it.
Trustpilot rates sugardefender.com 2.5 out of 5 from 31 reviews. Most are one-star reports of no change in readings or trouble with refunds; about a third are five-star. Reviewers choose themselves, so these accounts show the range of experiences rather than a typical result.
Sugar Defender side effects and safety
We found no product-specific side-effect data, but three things are worth knowing before you start. It contains caffeine from guarana and green tea without a stated amount. Gymnema, chromium and ginseng can add to diabetes medicines, so tell your doctor. Grapefruit seed extract is listed, and grapefruit can interact with many prescription drugs, although the amount here is small.
The label warns against use under 18, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and with other medicines without a doctor’s advice. Xylitol is one of the sweeteners, so keep the bottle away from dogs. Never cut back on prescribed diabetes treatment because you’re taking a supplement.
Is Sugar Defender worth it?
Yes, as a light daily extra. Sugar Defender is a real product with a published label and a few well-studied ingredients, which makes it reasonable to try for everyday support. Keep your expectations modest, since the amounts are smaller than in the studies. The three-bottle bundle ships free, and the refund window is 60 days, so decide early.
Like any supplement, it works best as a small extra next to diet, activity and your doctor’s plan. If you want larger, studied amounts of one ingredient, single-ingredient products are an option too. The price and refund section has the deadline details, and the buying section shows the verified seller pages.

Sugar Defender claims and evidence
| The claim | What we found | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| “This advanced blend of 24 proven ingredients supports healthy glucose levels and natural weight loss” | The label names 23 actives, not 24. Some have glucose research, but at hundreds to thousands of times these amounts, and none is “proven” in this product. | Can't confirm |
| “Chromium: Reduces Obesity & Lowers Blood Pressure” | A Cochrane review found about 1 kg of weight difference at 200–1,000 mcg, and we found no blood-pressure research supporting it. The drop has 0.7 mcg, so this caption claims more than the evidence shows. | Can't confirm |
| “Gymnema: Supports Healthy Heart & Blood Sugar” | Gymnema has small human glucose trials at 400 mg or more. The blend allows at most 25 mg. | Plausible |
| “Every bottle of Sugar Defender comes with a full 60-day guarantee” | The return policy and ClickBank's checkout both state 60 days from purchase. The BBB records complaints about refunds not paid after returns. | Supported |
| One-time payment, “no other future payments needed” | The base ClickBank order forms we loaded were one-time charges. One Trustpilot reviewer described a follow-up phone sale of other products. | Supported |
| “The #1 Rated Blood Sugar Formula” | We found no ranking behind this. The BBB asked the seller to back up this line in January 2025 and got no reply. | Can't confirm |

How long does Sugar Defender take to work? Use and refund timing
There is no established results timeline for Sugar Defender. These notes explain use guidance, research limits and refund deadlines; a refund period is not a promise of benefit.

Who Sugar Defender may suit
Who it may suit
- Adults with normal or borderline blood sugar who want to try a low-commitment herbal drop alongside diet and exercise.
- Buyers who are fine with a published blend that doesn't show individual amounts.
- People who will ask for a refund within 60 days if it isn't for them.
Who should seek medical advice or avoid it
- Anyone on insulin or glucose-lowering pills who hasn't talked to their doctor; several ingredients can add to those drugs.
- People avoiding caffeine, since guarana and green tea are included with no caffeine amount given.
- Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18, per the label.
- Anyone on a drug with a grapefruit warning, until a pharmacist confirms the small grapefruit-seed amount is not a concern.
Dietary supplements are not a substitute for medical care. Discuss the ingredients with a clinician or pharmacist, especially if you take medication or have symptoms that have not been evaluated.
How to take Sugar Defender
The label says to take 1 mL a day. The seller's supply math (60 days for 2 bottles) works out to about 2 mL a day instead, so follow the label on your bottle and ask your doctor if you use glucose-lowering medicine. Shake the bottle and put the dropper under the tongue or into water.

- The base checkout is a one-time payment through ClickBank or BuyGoods.
- Three- and six-bottle orders ship free and include two digital guides.

- The refund window is 60 days, shorter than the three-month use the seller suggests.
- The BBB rates the seller F, with a pattern of refund complaints.
- The label names no company, only a fulfillment-center address.
Sugar Defender price, guarantee & the refund fine print
$49–$79 per bottle, depending on bundle
- 2 bottles (60-day supply): $158 ($79/bottle) + $9.95 shipping = $167.95 total — ClickBank order form “Sugar Defender - 2 Bottles”; $167.95 with shipping.
- 3 bottles (90-day supply): $207 ($69/bottle), free shipping — includes Two digital guides: The Ultimate Tea Remedies and Learn How to Manage Type II Diabetes — ClickBank order form “Sugar Defender - 3 Bottles + 2 Free Ebooks”.
- 6 bottles (180-day supply): $294 ($49/bottle), free shipping — includes The same two digital guides — ClickBank order form “Sugar Defender - 6 Bottles + 2 Free Ebooks”.
- There was no single-bottle option. Supply days follow the seller's 30 days per bottle. The label serving is 1 mL a day, which would make a 60 mL bottle last about 60 days.
60-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase
You pay return postage. The seller's return policy gives 60 days from the date of purchase: email support@sugardefender.com for a return authorization (RMA), then mail the bottles within 14 days of getting it to 19655 E 35th Dr #100, Aurora, CO 80011. The same page carries generic lines saying sale items can't be refunded and that some health items are non-returnable; ClickBank's checkout states its own 60-day return guarantee, so contact ClickBank if the seller doesn't answer. Orders can only be cancelled within 24 hours, and refused deliveries lose the shipping cost.

Label transparency index: 33/100: the share of label facts (doses, manufacturer, refund terms, third-party testing) that are publicly verifiable. A checklist metric, separate from the 5.0 rating.
What each score measures
- Ingredient quality: The main ingredients have human research at comparable amounts, with clearly named, standardized extracts where relevant. Each ingredient has a plausible role in the formula.
- Label transparency: A public Supplement Facts label gives every active ingredient amount, identifies extract forms and names an accountable seller. This is stricter than dose disclosure alone, found on about 79% of labels in the NIH database. A third-party certificate of analysis goes further; about 7.5% of products provide one.
- Evidence support: Independent human studies support the main ingredients at the amounts in the product. Formulas using researched extracts such as KSM-66, LJ100 or Testofen can meet this standard. A trial of the complete product goes further; about 1–5% of products have one.
- Value: The daily price is at or below the category median, and the main ingredient amounts can be verified against research.
- Refund safety: A third-party payment processor enforces a guarantee of at least 60 days, accepts empty bottles and has documented successful refunds. A 180-day or longer policy goes further. Return authorization and buyer-paid return shipping are normal conditions and do not reduce this score.
- Track record: The product has maintained strong demand for at least 12 months, compared with an approximately six-month median lifespan in this market. Products younger than about 12 months receive N/A rather than a penalty.
- N/A = can't be assessed yet, so it is excluded from the score, never counted against the product. How we review.

Frequently asked questions about Sugar Defender
Is Sugar Defender legit or a scam?
Sugar Defender is a real product sold through ClickBank and BuyGoods with a published label and a 60-day refund. Its BBB file is rated F, with a pattern of refund complaints and no company registration found in Colorado. The label amounts are smaller than in studies, so keep expectations modest.
What is the official Sugar Defender website?
We verified sugardefender.com and its sales page sugardefender24.com, both using the seller's ClickBank and BuyGoods accounts. The card statement should read CLKBANK*SugarDefense. Many other “official” sites we found are run by affiliates.
What are the Sugar Defender ingredients?
Each 1 mL holds 0.7 mcg of chromium and a 200 mg blend of 22 items, led by maca, grape seed, guarana, African mango and eleuthero, and ending with amino acids such as L-carnitine. The rest is water, citrus extract, flavors, stevia and xylitol.
Does Sugar Defender lower blood sugar?
Sugar Defender may offer mild support at best, and it isn't a treatment. Gymnema, chromium and ginseng have small positive glucose studies, but at larger amounts than this drop lists, and Sugar Defender itself hasn't been tested. Some Trustpilot reviewers on medication saw no change in A1C, while others were happy with it.
Can I take Sugar Defender with metformin or insulin?
Ask your doctor first. The amounts are small, but gymnema, chromium and ginseng can add to glucose-lowering drugs. Don't stop or reduce any medicine because you've started a supplement.
Does Sugar Defender have side effects?
We found no product-specific side-effect data. It contains caffeine from guarana and green tea without stating how much, and xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Follow the label's warnings for pregnancy, breastfeeding and medication use.
How do you take Sugar Defender drops?
The label says 1 mL a day. Put the dropper under your tongue or stir it into water. The seller's bundle math assumes about 2 mL a day, so a bottle lasts 30 to 60 days depending on which you follow.
How much does Sugar Defender cost?
At checkout, 2 bottles cost $167.95 with shipping, 3 bottles $207 and 6 bottles $294, both with free US shipping. There's no single-bottle option.
Is Sugar Defender sold on Amazon or Walmart?
Not by the seller. We found third-party listings on Walmart, eBay and Amazon, including 30 mL bottles shipped from China. Those listings don't carry the seller's 60-day guarantee.
What is the Sugar Defender refund policy?
You have 60 days from the date of purchase. Email support@sugardefender.com for a return number, then mail the bottles within 14 days at your own cost. If the seller doesn't answer, contact ClickBank, which charged your card.
